Choose what people receive

Free Tidigar Business · Paid

Send someone a copy to explore an idea independently, or send your team a Business plan link to work on the same plan. For a view that keeps updating on a website, office display or in a calendar, use a screen link. Choosing the right kind of link determines whose edits people see and who can open it.

Send a release plan for discussion

This view shows three delivery activities. It hides Prepare support team, the internal preparation that Run the pilot also waits for. Open your own copy with Open in Tidigar to try the sharing controls.

Open in Tidigar: A release to share – Delivery discussion

  1. Open Share → Send a copy. No account is needed, in the browser or the apps.
  2. Check the included activity, milestone and saved-view counts. The initial copy includes all four activities, even though this view shows three.
  3. Choose Copy link and paste it into a message. Open the link lets you check the result before sending it.
  4. The recipient opens their own editable copy in Tidigar, with no account needed to receive it. Their edits do not change your plan, and your later edits do not update their copy.

The copy opens in the view you see when you create it, including its current filters and search. A view chooses the starting presentation; it does not limit what the link contains.

Check what the view hides

Here is the same release with its internal preparation visible. Both frames read the same demonstration plan. Move Build the release in either frame and the other follows; this synchronization belongs to the demonstration. Two people opening an ordinary copy link have independent plans.

Open in Tidigar: A release to share – Whole release

If the recipient should receive only the delivery activities, open Make the link shorter in Send a copy and select Only activities in this view. Check the new counts, then open the generated link and inspect it. The copy now leaves out Prepare support team and the pilot's dependency on it. It is a reduced plan, so its scheduling relationships can differ from the original.

Filtering alone leaves hidden activities in the copy. Before sending sensitive content, inspect the actual copy, including its descriptions, milestones, dimensions and saved views.

Put the copy on a page or a poster

The same dialog supplies three ways to distribute the snapshot:

A QR code changes how someone reaches the copy; it does not change its contents or make it follow later edits. An embedded copy can be explored and opened in Tidigar, but it does not write back to your original. When the release changes, make a new link and replace the old link, embed code or printed QR code as needed.

Invite members to the same Business plan

For a plan stored in Tidigar Business, choose Share → Copy link to plan. Send that address to members of the organisation that holds the plan. It opens the shared plan and its updates, with each person's existing access determining what they can do.

A signed-out reader is asked to sign in. An account without access is told to ask the sender for an invitation or use another account. Sending the address does not itself invite anyone. Follow Business teams to invite them and choose their roles. A local plan has no Business plan link; keep the plan in your Business organisation first if the team should work on it together.

To show an updating view to people without accounts, use Screen links. A screen shares a saved view and can be ended by deleting that screen. Its join QR code opens the shared plan for members; scanning it does not grant membership.

Let people follow dates in their calendar

For the release plan above, save a delivery view with the activities people should see. In your editable Tidigar Business plan, choose Share → Screens… and make a screen of that saved view. Open the screen and choose Calendar subscription → Copy calendar link. Recipients add the address as a subscription in their calendar app; they need no Tidigar account.

This publishes all-day activities and milestones, without descriptions. An activity covers its full work period, not just its final date. Edit the original in Tidigar; changes do not travel back from a subscribed calendar. Anyone with the subscription address can read the published view and pass it on. Calendar apps can take hours or longer to fetch updates, and deleting the screen does not erase events they have already downloaded. Follow Screen links and calendar feeds for the steps and limits. Publishing needs Tidigar Business (paid).

How sharing works in detail

A copy travels inside its address

The plan data is compressed into the part of the address after #. Creating the copy link does not upload the plan to Business. Anyone holding the full address can read the included content and pass it on. Compression makes it smaller; it does not encrypt it.

Because the data travels with the address, deleting or editing your original cannot recall copies already sent. An old copy link continues to describe the old snapshot. Use a Business plan for controlled member access, or a screen when you need an updating public view whose link you can end.

Shortening changes only the outgoing copy

The dialog limits the encoded plan to 1,900 characters and shows the current length. If the plan is too large, link, embed and QR output are unavailable until it fits. Your original stays editable.

Without descriptions, Without unused dimensions and Without saved views remove those parts from the outgoing copy. Only activities in this view uses the activities currently shown by filters and search, including a personal assignee filter when active. The reduction leaves milestones in the copy and removes dependency references to excluded records; it is not a promise that every hidden detail is gone. The options do not delete anything from your original.

Removing saved views still leaves the copy's initial presentation. Removing unused dimensions can also clear view settings that used them. Check the result after combining options. If it still will not fit, consider a project file in the apps; reading files is free, and each writer needs the Files and calendars one-time purchase.

Business membership and organisation rules still apply

Copy links do not carry Business activity assignments. Sending a copy therefore cannot delegate work or keep it connected to the team's activity history. Use the shared Business plan for that workflow.

An organisation can require plans to stay inside it. For those plans, Send a copy is blocked and screens are unavailable; a filtered view does not bypass that rule. Members can still use the plan's member link within their access.

A Business plan link is an address for a stored plan, so it needs a connection and access to that plan. A moved or deleted plan may no longer open. Organisations can separately allow plan-link previews to show a plan name and thumbnail in chat apps; a preview does not give the recipient access to the plan.
